How We Help

We support community wellness through our two primary projects, Empowerment & Choice and The Collaboration Project, as well as offering community workshops from time to time.

Our ability to offer these programs truly reflects community collaboration, and is due in large part to the support of our partners and sponsors.

We are very grateful for their support.

The SCF manages endowment funds, which are a pool of donations from corporate and individual contributors that earns income each year and creates a permanent source of funding. The capital of these funds—over one million in assets—is managed and monitored by the Squamish Community Foundation Board of Directors. From the income earned on the endowment funds, we distribute grants to registered charities and other eligible recipients in our community via an annual application process.

As part of the Vancity Group, Squamish Savings shares net profits with our members and the community every year through the Shared Success program.

As a financial institution, how we invest and operate affects your community’s well-being. It’s a responsibility that we take seriously. We multiply the power of members’ deposits by lending to and investing in local businesses, organizations and initiatives that create positive economic, social and environmental impact.

Without access to critical support and resources, the health and well-being of many youth are at risk. That’s where we come in. We’re helping improve outcomes for over two million youth each year by supporting local charities across Canada.

TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® is an independent registered charity that supports the well-being of youth who face obstacles to reaching their full potential.

With support from TELUS, 100% of your donations give youth opportunities to develop confidence, skills and a sense of belonging.

100 Women Who Care Squamish is a volunteer group of women in the Squamish area who care about their community and want to make a huge impact.

Members meet four times a year to hear about the work of three local registered charities and vote for the organization they feel is most in need. The charity with the most votes receives a $100 cheque or online payment from each member. A charitable tax receipt will be provided by the organization to each member.

RiseHwy99 isn’t just a hat company. It’s a community of outdoor enthusiasts and people who get a kick out of being in the fresh mountain air.

Deep thinkers, driven by community and adventure. People who understand that not everyone’s perfect – but that doesn’t matter.

We’re here to raise awareness of mental health struggles, give back to local charities and show how our wonderful playground of a backyard can help. Because after all, BC is freakin’ beautiful.

Ensuring Whistler is a role model for health care in a mountain resort community by helping Whistler residents and visitors have access to the best health care services in the Sea to Sky and surrounding communities.

We educate the community on Whistler health care needs and advocate for medical services, facilities and equipment in the Sea to Sky Corridor.
